FAQs
-
Clinical Pilates is conducted by licensed physiotherapists. It integrates traditional Pilates principles with physiotherapy clinical knowledge to help address specific movement challenges, rehabilitate injuries, and manage chronic pain.
Unlike traditional Pilates classes, Clinical Pilates sessions are tailored to your individual needs. A physiotherapist conducts a detailed assessment and designs exercises that focus on your specific rehabilitation goals, limitations, and pain points.
-
Of course! For first-timers, we recommend starting with an initial physiotherapy assessment. In this session, our licensed physiotherapist will evaluate your current movement, address any pain or limitations, and introduce you to the fundamentals of Clinical Pilates. From there, we build your program gradually, ensuring it’s tailored to your individual needs and goals.
-
It can be highly effective for managing lower back pain, neck pain, joint issues, sports injuries, post-operative recovery, and various chronic pain conditions by improving muscle balance and stability.
-
Absolutely. Each session is tailored to your condition, ensuring that movements are modified for safety and effectiveness while gradually improving your mobility and reducing discomfort.
-
Chronic pain is defined as pain that persists beyond the normal healing period—typically lasting longer than three months.
Unlike acute pain, which signals an injury or illness, chronic pain continues even after the initial cause has resolved. It can be due to conditions like arthritis, nerve damage, or musculoskeletal issues, and may affect your daily activities and overall quality of life. Managing chronic pain often involves a multi-disciplinary approach, including therapies like Clinical Pilates and Physiotherapy which focuses on improving strength, flexibility, and posture to help alleviate discomfort.
